Instructional model

Until the advantage of the computer,
which enabled the study of three-
dimensional objects from any angle,
a scale model was the best way of con-
veying the design, working and layout of
both, ships and small craft. They were
usually made in the dockyards as
apprentice piece and it's quite probable
that this model was built in this way.
